MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL (WBRC) - On Friday in Mountain Brook it was a day of remembrance and thanks as the city, along with Vestavia Hills and Homewood, hosted a 9-11 ceremony.
Firefighters, police officers and members of the military were all honored at the event held in front of Mountain Brook City Hall.
The keynote speaker served overseas in Tikrit after 9/11, but was on active duty in the states when the towers fell. He says he still remembers how he felt that day.
"Myself, like most folks, felt fear and shock," said Graves. "But my biggest reaction was anger and, being in the military, we wanted to go get the folks responsible for that."
