BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The Birmingham Police Department says that a teen was shot on Wednesday night around 6:20 p.m.
19-year-old Courtney Paige was found suffering from a gunshot wound on the side of a residence at 1792 51st Street in Ensley by police officers responding to information that someone had been shot.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported Paige to UAB Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight.
Paige's death marks the 28th homicide in Birmingham for 2010. At this point in the year, there were 43 homicides in 2009.
