JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A judge could decide on Tuesday whether Jefferson County's sewer department should be run by an appointed receiver.
An investment bank in New York has sued the county claiming commissioners are not doing all they can to pay off the county's $3 billion sewer debt.
County commissioners oppose the idea, because they believe a receiver would try to raise sewer rates.
