UAB beginning study into Hispanic obesity

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The University of Alabama at Birmingham has announced a new study into obesity in Hispanic children.

Researchers say that Hispanic children tend to have more fat mass than African-American or Caucasian children, even if they have a similar Body Mass Index. They feel there may be a genetic component.

Hispanic children ages 3-7 are needed for the study. For more information on the study, contact Krista Casazza at 205-975-6226.
