Five arrested after meth lab discovered in Clay

CLAY, AL (WBRC) - Five people have been arrested in connection with a methamphetamine lab discovered in eastern Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, in a statement Wednesday to FOX6 News, said early Tuesday morning narcotics deputies assisted the Alabama State Probation Office with an in-home visit of Coy Carreker, a parolee, in the 7000 block of Self Road in Clay.  When they arrived, they found three active meth labs on the property along with finished meth, assorted pills, drug paraphernalia, a laptop computer that was reported stolen in the city of Birmingham, and eight people.

Of the eight people on the property, investigators said five were arrested on charges related to the manufacture of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of controlled substances or drug paraphernalia, and outstanding warrants:

Daniel Ward, 26, Clay
