Three Etowah County deputies cleared of deadly shooting

ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Three Etowah County Sheriff's deputies have been cleared in a deadly shooting. The shooting happened Sunday as the deputies tried to serve a drug warrant at a home in Boaz.

Investigators say 55-year-old Anthony Samson pointed a gun at them and the deputies opened fire. Authorities say Samson was not the suspect deputies were looking for, but lived at the same home.

The sheriff's department says the deputies will not be placed on administrative leave.
