Second suspect arrested in cold murder case

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham police have identified a second suspect connected with the murder of a Birmingham man seven years ago.

Police say 34-year-old Robert Grant III has been arrested after investigators were able to get more information once the first arrest in the case was announced.

Birmingham Police said in a statement Tuesday to FOX6 News, said Antrenalla Burts, 27, has been charged with capital murder in the 2003 death of LeJohn Hinds, 29, of Birmingham.

On November 30, 2003, Hinds was found dead in Dolomite Park from a gunshot wound. Detectives later found evidence that connected the suspect to the homicide, and a warrant was obtained against Burts Tuesday.

Burts was already in the Jefferson County Jail on an unrelated charge. Grant is now being held in the Jefferson County Jail as well.

This case is still under investigation. Anyone with any additional information is asked to call the Birmingham Police Department Homicide Unit at (205) 254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-7777.
