JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Jefferson County deputies have responded to an incident on Crane Street in the Kimberly Morris area.
Authorities say it was a domestic dispute between a father and a son. According to police, Raymond Guthrie struck his father in the head with a hammer.
The father was taken to the hospital and was able to give authorities his son's name.
Officers found Guthrie hiding behind the home. They say he was intoxicated.
The son has been arrested on attempted murder charges.
