Gulley, May in runoff for Bessemer mayor

BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) - Ken Gulley and Ed May will face each other next month in a runoff to decide who will be mayor of Bessemer for the next four years.

Neither Gulley nor May received enough votes Tuesday to avoid the runoff. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Gulley had 38 percent of the vote while May had 23 percent.

May, who is the current mayor of Bessemer, and Gulley beat out a crowded field of candidates to make it to the runoff.
