BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A judge has ruled in favor of a plan by Trinity Medical Center to relocate to Highway 280.
Tuesday, a judge issued his recommendation in favor of Trinity's decision to relocate from Montclair Road in Birmingham to the "digital hospital" site on Highway 280. The ruling followed months of deliberations because of opposition from Brookwood and St. Vincent's hospitals.
Trinity had planned to move to Irondale, but backed out when Birmingham offered the former HealthSouth digital hospital site in an effort to keep the hospital in the city limits.
Tuesday's ruling will now go before the Alabama Certificate of Need Board next month.
