JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - If you are a Jefferson County taxpayer, your occupational tax refund money could be one step closer to your bank account.
County commissioners may debate settling a lawsuit over the tax in their budget meeting on Tuesday.
On Monday, Dekalb County Judge David Rains issued an order that will partially lift his gag order involving the job tax.
That means commissioners could decide to go ahead with refunds and not challenge the amount of legal fees to be awarded to attorneys in the case.
