BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A trial date has been set Judge Dan King.
The Court of the Judiciary announced Monday it will begin hearing the case against Judge King on September 22 in Montgomery.
Judge King is accused of working as a lawyer and judge in favor of a convicted sex offender. Prosecutors say King served as a defense attorney for convicted sex offender Ronnie Ashford, then later, as a judge, set aside the conviction so Ashford could live with and take care of his sick mother, who lives near a school.
Judge King has been suspended until the case is investigated.
