MACON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Victoryland plans to reopen its doors to the public on Thursday evening.
The gambling complex will be featuring their greyhound and thoroughbred racing, but their hotel and electronic bingo facilities will remain closed, until the battle over this type of gambling is settled in court.
This comes as the State Supreme Court gave Victoryland a temporary break from the threat of a raid. The high court has refused an emergency request by the governor's task force on illegal gambling.
Task Force Commander John Tyson wants a lower court's order removed immediately.
The Supreme Court says Macon County officials have until tomorrow to file their appeal.
