GREENE COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A judge has dismissed charges for a group of people who protested a raid on Greenetrack.
16 people faced charges of interfering with government operations. They were accused of refusing to leave the property as state troopers moved in to raid the e-bingo hall in July.
Greenetrack CEO Luther Winn was also charged with reckless endangerment for allegedly hitting a trooper with his vehicle. That charge was also dropped. Winn calls the charges "ridiculous."
Greene County District Attorney Greg Griggers said the cases were difficult to prosecute due to a lack of documentation from the anti-gambling task force.
