GREENE COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - More than a dozen elected leaders and bingo backers in Greene County will face a judge on Wednesday.
It all goes back to the early morning raid at Greenetrack on July first. FOX 6 News was there as agents of the State Department of Public Safety arrested a total of 16 people who refused to leave the casino. They were then loaded into a white department of corrections bus and taken to jail. Among those arrested were State Senator Bobby Singleton, several Greene County Commissioners and Greenetrack's manager.
The protesters are charged with "interfering with government operations."
The court hearing is set for 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the Greene County Courthouse in Eutaw.
