BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A community cleanup blitz has been rebooted. It first began as an effort called "27 in 27" under former Mayor Larry Langford.
City workers will cut vacant lots, pick up trash and brush, remove abandoned cars and begin demolishing unsound structures and houses. It starts in Collegeville, but will move to Harriman Park and Pratt City as the week goes on.
Crews will work each day 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
