John Tyson files papers to lift injunction on Victoryland raid

MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) – The commander of Governor Riley's task force on illegal gambling is once again looking to lift an injunction stopping him from raiding Victoryland. This time, John Tyson is asking for the Supreme Court to lift the order immediately.

Tyson filed papers with the Alabama Supreme Court on Thursday night after Macon County Circuit Judge Tom Young allowed plaintiffs in the case 14 days to ask the Supreme Court to reconsider on the ruling. Court papers from the Supreme Court say there is no need to wait on lifting the injunction.

Both Tyson and the Supreme Court have called Judge Young's actions "improper."
