BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – Residents of Alabama and people across the Southeast are trying to take it easy as the excessive heat warnings continue.
For most of Alabama, an excessive heat warning has been issued and is supposed to expire at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. There is a chance that the warning could be extended on into Friday.
Anyone under an excessive heat warning is strongly urged to stay out of the heat and to stay hydrated if working in the outdoors.
Cooling stations will remain open in several areas to help those in the heat.
In Birmingham, you can go to Boutwell Auditorium during the day and get a cold drink of water. Organizers are also in need of bottled water donations.
In Calhoun County, the Salvation Army in Anniston is a place where folks can cool off during the day.
