JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Jefferson County workers may be getting some good news about their pay on Thursday.
The Jefferson County Commission will discuss bringing back merit pay raises. County workers have been without raises for more than a year, due to the county's financial concerns.
Commission President Bettye Fine Collins says tax collections are improving, but legal challenges to the new occupational tax remain a threat to employee pay and county services.
