BALL PLAY, AL (WBRC) - A woman from Etowah County has been charged in connection with the shooting death of her husband.
Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, in a statement to FOX6 News Tuesday morning, said Joel David Kutschenreuter, 53, was found dead earlier Tuesday morning inside a home on Clay Drive in Hokes Bluff. Investigators said it appeared Kutchenreuter had been shot three times while lying in bed.
47-year-old Carlotta Susann Kutschenreuter has been charged with one count of murder.
Deputies found Kutschenreuter's body after responding to a 911 call placed by the couple's son at approximately 5:40 a.m.
Carlotta is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center.
