MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) – A rally to protest the removal of electronic bingo machines from Greenetrack took place on Friday in Montgomery.
Supporters rallied across the street from the Alabama Supreme Court. Their purpose was to show the Supreme Court their disappointment over a ruling that allowed Governor Riley's task force on illegal gaming to raid the Greene County establishment two weeks ago. Several supporters from Country Crossing, another business raided by the task force, showed up for the rally as well.
State Representative John Rogers says he feels Greenetrack supporters should vote against Supreme Court candidates who made the ruling.
Joe Reed of the Alabama Democratic Conference says he is planning another rally for Labor Day that will double as a voter registration drive. Reed is hoping for around 25,000 people to attend the rally. He also says that he plans to find celebrities to make appearances.
