Students honored for hard work in summer programs

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham students in two summer programs were honored on Wednesday for hard work and studying.

The Extended Year Program and the Superintendent's Academy give students the opportunity to study new subjects and maintain skills learned throughout the school year.

On Wednesday, the students participated in ceremonies to show off skills learned this summer. Teachers say they are proud of the students' accomplishments.

Dozens of students participated in the programs.
