PELHAM, AL (WBRC) – The Alabama Department of Transportation says they have begun emergency repairs on a sinkhole in Pelham.
The sinkhole occurred in the median on I-65 between mile maker 246 and 247 on Thursday morning.
The left lanes on both I-65 northbound and southbound have been closed to make room for the repairs. The lanes are expected to be closed through the Fourth of July weekend.
Motorists are encouraged to use a different route, if possible, until repairs are made.
