Homewood police capture carjacker

HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) - Homewood police say they have captured a suspect in a carjacking at a grocery store.

Officers say two car thieves stole a black Mercury Milan at gunpoint in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot.

The suspects were spotted by officers while they were driving the car near the crime scene and tried to stop them. The carjackers ended up wrecking and then running away.

Officers spotted one of the men near Ridge and Mayfair Drives. They are still looking for the other suspect.
