BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – Birmingham police have made an arrest in a deadly hit-and-run accident.
Police say 31-year-old Anita Pickett was driving on I-59 when another driver lost control and struck her vehicle. The crash sent Pickett's car over the concrete barrier, plummeting 40 feet to the ground and killing her. The driver of the other vehicle did not stop.
Pickett's family says it is a relief to know a suspect has been arrested, but their grief and shock are still fresh.
