Van der Sloot again claiming to know location of Holloway remains

LIMA, PERU (WBRC) - A new confession is being made by Joran van der Sloot.

Van der Sloot, now accused of murdering a 21-year-old woman at a hotel in peru, says he knows where the body of Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway is located.

The chief of Peru's criminal police says van der Sloot let it slip that he knew where Natalee was buried while investigators were questioning him about the murder of Stephany Flores. The chief of police says van der Sloot would only testify about it before Aruban authorities.

The attorney to Holloway's father, Vinda de Sousa, says they hope that van der Sloot's latest confession will bring some closure to their family. "There always this big question mark and that is an open wound which will never heal until they know what happened," says de Sousa. "He's saddened. He feels for them. And it just broke the wound wide open."

Meanwhile, investigators say they still do not know whether to believe van der Sloot given his history of lies

Just this week, an FBI affidavit revealed that back in March, van der Sloot lied to the Natalee Holloway family about where she was buried in order to get $250,000. Van der Sloot now faces extortion charges in that case.
