JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) – The Jefferson County Commission voted on Tuesday to hire a consultant to help sell the county nursing home.
The vote passed 3 to 0 with only Commissioners Carns, Collins and Humphryes in attendance.
The consultant would advise commissioners on marketing and selling the Jefferson County Rehabilitation Center, the county's home for low-income residents.
Both candidates in the June 22nd runoff election for the District 1 seat asked the commission hold off on the vote until one of them would be seated. Johnathan Austin and George Bowman have both stated they oppose the sale.
