Trial over receivership in Jefferson County delayed

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A judge has issued an order delaying a trial which could have a receiver appointed over Jefferson County's' sewer department. Russellville County circuit judge Albert Johnson delayed the trial which was set to begin June 14th.

The judge did allow attorneys representing ratepayers to intervene in the case. Bank of New York Mellon sued the county to appoint a receiver because the bank did not believe the county was doing all it could to pay off its $3 billion dollar sewer debt.
