HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) - The man accused of killing a Homewood mom was in court for his preliminary hearing on Thursday.
Joacquas Haywood has been charged with capital murder in connection with the 2008 disappearance of Nadia Kersh, however police have not found her body.
During Thursday's preliminary hearing, Homewood police presented cell phone records and fingerprints as evidence linking Haywood to the case. They also showed a videotaped statement from Haywood in which he claims someone else used a decoy to make it look like he committed the crim.
Haywood's attorney says without a body, blood or DNA evidence, they cannot link Haywood to the case. In the end, the case was bound over to the grand jury.
