BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - On the table on Tuesday for the Birmingham City Council is a pair of plans to find a way to reduce Mayor William Bell's proposed cuts.
Mayor Bell's budget for next year contains several cuts, including an across the board 10% pay cut for city employees.
At Tuesday's city council meeting, members will vote on two resolutions. The first would request the mayor to sell surplus city property in an effort to find additional funding to balance the budget. The second measure would request the mayor to ask city employees for their ideas on ways the city can save money.
The resolution would have suggestions turned in no later than Monday.
