AL Secretary of State worried over low voter turnout

MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - Alabama's Secretary of State Beth Chapman has concerns about the possibility of an unusually low turnout next week.

Monday is a holiday and Chapman is concerned many people will not think about going to the polls on Tuesday.
On Good Day Alabama on Tuesday, Chapman stressed the importance of primary voting and how it will affect November's elections. "If you don't vote on Tuesday, then you won't be able to determine who you vote for in November," said Chapman. "One side of the ticket is probably going to have two runoffs, so you really need to go to the polls and decide who will be on the ballot for you and others to vote for in November.

Thursday is the last day to request an absentee ballot.

Chapman recommends having your ballot postmarked by Friday, which would factor in the holiday Monday when mail will not run.
