Wanted fugitive taken down by police in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WBRC) - The search for one of America's most wanted ended at a grocery store in Huntsville on Thursday.
U.S. marshals and Huntsville police followed 22-year-old Gilberto Vargas from a home to the store and took him down in the parking lot. Police say Vargas tried to run, but they subdued him with a stun gun and pepper spray.

Vargas was with two women, driving a u-haul, and towing a car. He was supposedly leaving for California. Inside the vehicle, officers found an a-k 47, a shot gun, and a handgun.

The women are not expected to face charges.
Vargas was recently featured on the FOX show "Americas Most Wanted." He's a suspected Chicago gang member accused of murder.
