BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham Mayor William Bell released Wednesday a list of the city's recreation centers he proposes should be temporarily closed as part of his effort to save money.

Bell's office said these nine parks were chosen because of their condition and low yearly attendance.
Tuesday, Mayor Bell announced the closings as part of his plan to cut millions of dollars in spending in the 2011 budget. The budget was submitted to the city council for discussion.
