BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Authorities said Monday the shooting death of a Birmingham man earlier this month was justified.
Birmingham Police, in a statement Monday to FOX6 News, said the Jefferson County District Attorney has decided not to press charges in the shooting death of Marqualius Harris, 18, of Birmingham. Harris died on May 5th during what police said was a robbery attempt.
Birmingham Police said homicide detectives presented findings of their investigation to the District Attorney's office who ruled the Harris' death was a justifiable homicide because Harris was attempting to rob two people. The two people were approached by Harris at gunpoint who attempted to rob them as they entered their vehicle. The two people returned gunfire, shooting and killing Harris.
