Summer 2010 looks encouraging for Alabama Adventure

BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) - Alabama Adventure is getting ready for the summer season.
The water and theme park is hoping for a record year and is offering a deal to get you to vacation at home.

Officials are encouraged about this season's numbers because season pass sales have been strong.

The park is offering season passes for $49.99 when you buy two or more, that's a $10 discount.

Last year, more than 30,000 season passes were sold and the park is on pace to trump last year's numbers.

The general manager, EJ Randolph, says he knows it's expensive for families to take vacations.

Therefore, the park wanted to offer a discount.

Randolph says the season pass is not only a value, but it's all about non-stop family entertainment for the summer.

"We know people are not going to be here every single day but a season pass pays for itself in two visits or less," says Randolph. "You get concerts, special events, fireworks on July 4th all those kinds of things."

If you want to take advantage of the season pass discount, keep in mind the special ends Sunday.

The Summer Concert Series kicks off June 12th with the Charlie Daniels Band.

American Idol winner Kris Allen, Colbie Caillat, and "Boys Like Girls" are some of the other performers.
