Bill Blount asks judge to delay his prison arrival date

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Investment banker Bill Blount asked a federal judge to reconsider a request to stay out of prison for another couple of months.

According to a court filing, Blount says it's important to the government and to the public that his request be made in secret.

Blount pled guilty to bribing former Birmingham mayor Larry Langford while Langford served as president of the Jefferson County Commission.

Both Blount and Al LaPierre are scheduled to report to prison as May ends.
