BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Martez Seay is charged with five murders in Jefferson County.
Thursday, he plead guilty to capital murder.
In pleading guilty, prosecutors have agreed not to ask for the death penalty. The request is now for life without parole. But because it's a capital murder case, Seay must have a "mini trial" on August 23rd.
Jurors will hear the case to recommend a sentence.
A judge will make the final decision on Seaz' future.
