Celebrity Pro-Am golf tournament benefits Children's Hospital

HOOVER, AL (WBRC) - Dozens of celebrities joined golf's most talented athletes Thursday to raise money for Children's Hospital of Birmingham.

The CGI Pro Am was held Thursday at the Ross Bridge golf course in Hoover, Alabama.  Dozens of celebrities, including Alabama head football coach Nick Saban and Auburn head basketball coach Tony Barbee, played golf Thursday with professional golfers such as Fuzzy Zoeller and Corey Pavin.

In addition, a putting challenge was held on the putting green.  Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik and former Auburn football star Bo Jackson teamed up against Alabama head basketball coach Anthony Grant and former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker.

The Senior PGA will hold the Regions Charity Classic golf tournament Friday through Sunday.

Money raised by the tournament will benefit Children's Hospital of Birmingham.  The tournament, now in its 19th year in Birmingham, has raised and donated more than $11 million for a variety of charities around Alabama.
