Tuscaloosa police making efforts to keep kids from gangs

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Tuscaloosa police want parents to have the information they need to keep their children out of gangs.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department's east precinct held a gang seminar Monday night at Alberta Elementary School.

Officers gave parents facts about gang activity in their neighborhoods and told them what to look for to determine if their child is in a gang.
The meeting comes as U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announces a new nationwide emphasis on combating gang violence.
