ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Big cuts are coming to the Etowah County Board of Education.
Board members have voted to cut 26 non-tenured teaching positions and 20 support positions. The county's superintendent says the system still faces financially difficult times.
This comes as Gadsden's school board met earlier this week and cut 19 jobs out of their budget, including 13 teachers.
Superintendents of both school boards say they hope to rehire these positions when finances are better.
