HOOVER, AL (WBRC) - A Louisiana man suspected of stabbing a friend in Hoover has been arrested for attempted murder.

Hoover Police, in a statement Thursday to FOX6 News, said Michael Walter Green, 36, of Baton Rouge, La., had been charged with attempted murder, robbery, and obstructing justice.  The charges resulted from an incident that occurred on April 20, when Hoover Police received a call from a witness saying he had seen a victim be stabbed in the area of U.S. Highway 31 and Patton Chapel Road.

Hoover Police responded and said they found a 33-year-old male victim who was treated by medics and transported to UAB where he underwent surgery and was recovering Thursday.

Later that evening, Hoover Police said their officers discovered the victim's vehicle, a dark colored Chevrolet Avalanche, being driven southbound on I-459. Officers stopped the vehicle on I-59/20 in Bessemer, where they took Green into custody.

Detectives said the stabbing appeared to be the result of a disagreement between friends.  The victim and the suspect were travelling together, and both were from the Baton Rouge, La., area.

Green was being held in the Hoover City Jail awaiting transfer to the Jefferson County Jail on $135,000 bond.
