Birmingham Mayor/Council election bill now needs Riley's signature

MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) -  House Bill 757 has passed the Senate. The next step is for Governor Bob Riley, as he must sign the bill into law.

The bill would place the Birmingham City Council and mayor's elections on the same ballot.

Currently, the council and mayoral elections are two years apart.
