MONTGOMERY, AL (WBRC) - Lawmakers will make their final decisions about Alabama's Pre-paid College Tuition Plan on Wednesday afternoon.
One of the groups that has lobbied the most about the proposed bill to help the program is Save Alabama PACT. Karen Gandy, a representative from Save Alabama PACT, says she believes the bill will pass.
Gandy says that a compromise has been reached on the bill and that there will be a floating tuition cap on state universities and 2-year colleges. She adds that the University of Alabama and Auburn University will not have tuition caps.
Gandy also says that there will be an infusion of $500 million into the PACT program over 5 years.
The bill will go to the Senate for a vote first.
