TALLADEGA NATIONAL FOREST, AL (WBRC) - Three women were rescued Monday from the Talladega National Forest after being missing since Sunday.
FOX6 News was on the scene Monday afternoon when searchers aboard a rescue helicopter found the women. Jeff Edwards, public information officer for the Cleburne County EMA, said the ladies were found near the Adam's Gap area in fair condition with no injuries.
The Cleburne County Sheriff's Department said it received a phone call at approximately 10:00 p.m. Sunday, informing dispatchers of the missing women. The Sheriff's Department said it immediately launched a search and rescue operation, and deputies quickly located the car of the missing women in the Chinnabee Lake parking lot near Mt. Cheaha.
The search continued through the morning until the women were found at approximately 2:00 p.m. Monday.
