Birmingham, AL (WBRC) - The Jefferson county commission held a mid-year review today to take a look at how county services are doing financially.
Three proposals that came out of today's meeting include opening the new multi-million dollar courthouse in Bessemer. Commission president Bettye Fine Collins wants the court house to open in May. Collins also asked all department heads to prepare two budgets to be presented - one including the occupational tax and one without the occupational tax.
Lastly, Collins wants to sale or privatize the county's nursing home ending the county's financial responsibility to the home.
