TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - A section of highway in Tuscaloosa was shut down after a tanker truck crashed then caught fire. The deadly wreck happened around 5:00 on Friday morning on Interstate 359.
According to Travis Parker with Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue, the tanker was heading north on I-359 when it overturned and caught fire.
It is unclear what the driver was carrying.
The driver died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
Currently, the northbound lane of I-359 remains closed and police are rerouting traffic.
