ATHENS, AL (WBRC) - Tennessee Valley Authority officials say lightly radioactive water leaked from a tank at the Browns Ferry Plant in north Alabama. Workers were unable to close the valve, so they lowered the water in the tank.
The Nuclear regulatory commission says it was not an emergency.
The water leaked into one of five large tanks that supply water to the turbines generating steam for the plant's three nuclear reactors.
