Birmingham police make arrest in weekend homicide

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) – The Birmingham Police Department is reporting they have made two arrests in connection to the city's 10th homicide of 2010.

29-year-olds Daniel Ortega and Pedro Rimerez Ortega were taken into custody for the April 4th homicide of 52-year-old Marcos Esteban Nunez.

Both suspects are facing murder warrants. Pedro Rimerez Ortega also faces an escape charge after attempting to flee police.

The suspects are currently in the Jefferson County Jail.
