BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Mounds of trash are being dumped illegally on property owned by the Shuttlesworth International Airport.
FOX 6 cameras discovered the big mess after a local aerial photographer captured the problem.
The airport says they will clean up the mess, and will prosecute if they find out who is responsible.
Aerial photographer Greg McNair says he hates for the trash to be the first thing people see when they arrive at Birmingham. "You see things that no one else sees. You sort of get that 'not in my backyard' wide perspective. Then, I realize, hey, I wonder if those people knew that was in their backyard I bet they wouldn't like that," says McNair.
A spokesman for the airport says the same land was cleaned a couple of years ago for the same problem.
