Alabama Bapists walk to raise poverty awareness

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A group of Alabama Baptists are trying to bring awareness to the state's poverty.
About two dozen people began a walk Wednesday from downtown Birmingham to Perry County,one of the poorest areas in the state. The 74-mile trek lasts until Saturday.

Walkers include leaders and members of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. The moderate Baptist group has an initiative that fights poverty in Perry County.
